V Memo is a free, ad-free productivity app and is not designed for children.

Data we collect

Google account identifiers required for sign-in (subject ID, optional email/profile).
App session data (encrypted access/refresh token records).
Note content, reminder settings, and note metadata needed for sync and restore.
Friend discovery and relationship data, optional profile name/image, shared event content and permissions, and in-app social notification metadata/read state.
Operational logs and usage counters required to run and protect the service.

Friend discovery requires a complete email address. Searchable-by-email is enabled by default and can be turned off in Friends settings.
Discovery uses a normalized email digest and is rate-limited by account and hashed source IP. Search input and email addresses are not logged.
Shared event content is available only to invited members according to owner, editor, and viewer permissions.
In-app social notifications contain references and optional display labels, not event body or email, and have a 90-day server retention setting.
Personal reminder alarms and reminder notifications stay on your Android device.

Local notes are stored on-device in the app database.
Cloud data is stored in AWS (DynamoDB and supporting AWS services).
When AI features are used, the minimum note, transcript, or temporary audio data needed for that feature is sent to OpenAI.

Only note text needed for title generation is sent.
The app uses OpenAI with storage disabled for requests when supported by the model/service configuration.
You can continue using the app without AI-generated titles.

When you are online and choose smart capture, the app sends a short, bounded recording to our authenticated backend and OpenAI for transcription.
The temporary recording is not saved to cloud storage, logs, or the app database and is deleted from the device cache after processing.
The transcript may be sent to OpenAI to suggest editable note, task, event, category, schedule, and reminder details. You must confirm before anything is saved.
When smart capture is unavailable, the app falls back to Android speech recognition services available on your device. Provider behavior depends on Android and your settings.

You can export notes at any time. JSON export also includes applicable cached social, shared-event membership, participant, and in-app notification metadata; Markdown remains note-focused.
Use in-app account deletion or Delete account if you cannot access the app.
Account deletion permanently removes cloud identity, discovery, friendship, notification, session, synced note/revision, and usage records. Events you own are deleted for everyone; your membership in events owned by others is ended.
